Специалисты из Кембриджа проанализировали мозг боксеров, которые страдают этой болезнью и пришли к выводу, что на нее влияет в первую очередь структура нитей тау-белка, а не какие-то другие факторы. Поэтому болезнь развивается не у всех пациентов в группе риска, а только у тех, кто имеет к этой болезни определенную расположенность.
Работа ученых позволит найти способы лечения болезни, ведь она практически не диагностируется. Сейчас диагноз ставят только после смерти пациентов.
