Ученые из Университета Чили доказали, что человеческая слюна может заживлять раны. О целебных свойствах слюны было известно и ранее, однако экспериментальное и научное подтверждение этот факт получил только сейчас. Результаты исследования опубликованы в журнале The FASEB Journal.
Исследователи провели эксперимент на курах. Птицам нанесли раны разной тяжести. Затем всех кур разделили на три группы: одним наносили лекарства, других лечили с помощью слюны человека, а у остальных птиц раны должны были заживать естественным путем. Быстрее всех поправились птицы, раны которых обрабатывали слюной.
Заживляющие способности слюны объясняются содержащимся в ней пептидом гистатином-1. Он способствует росту кровеносных сосудов, побуждая клетки эпителия усиленно «стягиваться» к поврежденным областям и закрепляться там. Благодаря этому свойству белка, раны во рту заживают значительно быстрее, нежели на теле человека.
Ученые намерены и дальше изучать свойства слюны, для того чтобы в будущем создать заживляющий препарат на ее основе.

Всем давно известно, что человеческая слюна и слюна многих млекопитающих содержит бактерицидные вещества. Вопрос производства препарата касается по большей части технологии самого приготовления такого средства, потому что нужно очень большое количество слюны для таких целей. Но слюна имеет свои преимущества: она биологически бактерицидная и не содержит химии.
Конечно, слюна любого человека не подойдет. Прежде всего, это должен быть здоровый человек. Нужно брать во внимание биоценоз – состояние полости (ротовая, гениталии) человека, в которой находится определенное соотношение микробов, являющихся барьером для проникновения в эту полость инородных тел.
Неизвестно, отличается ли как-то по своим бактерицидным свойствам слюна ребенка и пожилого человека. Может быть, это будет одна из целей дальнейших исследований. Наверно, самая максимально насыщенная слюна у людей фертильного возраста. Почему болеют чаще всего пожилые люди и маленькие дети? Потому что у них не создан или уже не так функционирует этот биоценоз, который мог бы их защищать
