Вирус передается в человеческую популяцию из-за того, что дикие животные начинают мигрировать, и вирусы начинают передаваться от ранее изолированных видов животных к тем, что постоянно контактируют с человеком. Дальше, преодолев еще одну эволюционную ступень, вирус попадает к людям.
Специалисты проанализировали ареалы обитания 3139 видов млекопитающих и составили модель их миграции до 2070 года. По их расчетам, множество видов животных будут мигрировать в регионы Азии и Африки с высокой плотностью населения. За это время может появиться до 4 тысяч случаев передачи вируса к человеку.
Ученые доказывают, что расслабляться властям рано и нужно продолжать усиливать эпидемиологический надзор.
